Submission Policy

Docfest does not hold a traditional open call for entries. There are three steps to be invited to screen your film at docfest:

  1. Mail (no emails or faxes will be accepted) a short synopsis, technical info, press materials, and director's bio to the festival.
  2. After reviewing these materials, docfest will contact selected filmmakers to submit cassettes of their films. (This does not mean that your film has been accepted to screen in the festival.)
  3. docfest will make its final programming decisions and invite the selected filmmakers to screen their film in the festival.

U.S. films considered for docfest must have been completed within twelve months prior to the festival. Films made outside the U.S. must have been completed within twenty-four months prior to the festival.

Please note: submitted materials and cassettes will not be returned.
